My Muhammad Book

While working on my Muhammad book I learned the book takes a long period of time to finish. Typing the paragraphs up, fixing the font, and editing took a long time to do. It was easy to color and draw the pictures. Outlining the boxes surronding the work took the longest, I had to be careful because I couldn’t fix the lines if I had made a mistake. The overall outcome I’d say would be a four out of five, It wasn’t the neatest but had interesting points. Next time, I will use colored pencil on the cover; the sharpie bled through to the next  page. Also, I won’t procrastinate until the night before the project is due. I learned Muhammad influenced the Arabian Penninsula by teaching them how to live,  treat  other  people, God, and monotheisim. I like chapter quizzes because it’s not as time consuming, and some people are not creative (such as me) and get graded poorly because they’re not good at coloring. I think I learn more from tests because I have to study instead of copying.

This week what I’ve learned…

This week I’ve learned that it is very important to follow directions- asking questions, summarizing, looking for clear facts and or websites. I learned it is very important to follow your outline and stick to a deadline. I also learned that it is easier when you don’t procrastinate. In my experience with the wiki, I have had a wonderful time the website is reliable, and easy to use. I think that the ability to access things such as font size is very easy. I enjoy using this wesite and wouldn’t mind using it again.

The Time Traveler:The Arabian Peninsula

Hello readers, this week I’ve traveled to the Arabian Peninsula in the year 600 c.e. I’ve learned many important things about the Arabian Peninsula. I have learned that there are four different kinds of environments.  They are: desert, oasis, coastal plain, and mountains.  In the desert, I was so hot that I had to wear special clothes. That’s my first tip: in the desert, always wear loose fitting clothing.  Also, drink as much water as possible.  Another tip is to always take a herd of animals with you. The herd can give you lots of things: milk, meat, etc.  The next environment I lived in was the oasis, this was my favorite environment. Can you picture green everywhere you look and of all sizes?  That’s the oasis for you, there are many plants around and are strictly wild.  A tip for you if you go to the oasis is to start growing agriculture.  This environment is perfect for farming, because there is water trapped underground.  Another tip I have for you is to grow date palms; the fruit can be used for food while the wood of the tree can be used to build houses.  The third environment is the coastal plain; if I could describe this environment in one word, I would say water. I have an important tip for you, irrigation systems are very vital.  Building dams can provide extra water to grow extra food. Also, this environment has seas along its plain, so use ships to travel to other places to trade. Another tip I have for you is fragrant tree sap can be very useful for trading.  The last environment is the mountains; this enviroment was my least favorite environment.  This enviroment can get up to 20 inches of rain, so be sure to build a brick house with a roof.  An important new adaptation are terraces on the side of the mountains so that people can farm up higher. Overall, I had a great experience in the Arabian Peninsula.

                                                       Until next time,

                                                                               Kaitlyn Van Cise!

My Trimester

                                                                 Dear mom and dad,

This trimester I have learned many important things in all of my classes. My work ethic this trimester was to work on homework every night even if  it wasn’t due for another few days. This helped me to turn in all of my papers on time. This helped me in social studies when I learned about  feudalism, kings, ladies, travel, and religous icons. Because of  this method i turned things in on time also in math. In math, some of the things i turned in included decimals, exponents, alegebra, etc.  In science I would always try to start the assignment the moment I would get it. I would get assignments dealing with: the grand canyon layers, erosion, and deposition. Lastly, I would use this method in language arts, in language arts I would start the assignment as soon would get it because I knew it would sneek up on me later on. Erosion, medieval times, latin, decimals this trimester I have learned many different things in many different class’. This trimester has been full of interesting facts and stories.
